Hundreds of people have been killed in a landslide in northeastern Afghanistan - and the death toll is feared to rise as thousands may have been buried alive in the rubble. - An estimated 350 to 400 homes were destroyed in Argodistriktet as a result of heavy rain triggered landslides, said the region's deputy governor, told AFP.

UN declares that they will help coordinate rescue efforts, but it is difficult because the road leading to the area is not sufficiently stable to withstand heavy transport.
