It´s more calm here now. During my time here we have been attacked often. Thinking of a year ago; It was horrible and terrible..We been attacked including my Team..after 2 days on gun battle..we managed to kill 47 Afghan Rebels.
All the time ..The blood shed was horrible. I just want you to know more about what i am passing through here..

One can rest more now.. but you can never forget.

For the sword outwears its sheath,

And the soul wears out the breast,

And the heart must pause to breath,

And love itself have rest

According to local authorities in eastern Kunar province of Afghanistan, at least four Taliban militants were killed following a drone strike by coalition security forces.

A local security official confirming the report said the militants were killed during a drone strike in Asmar district late Saturday.

Taliban militants group has not commented regarding the reports so far.

This comes as a senior Taliban leader was killed along with four other militants following a drone strike by coalition security forces in eastern Kunar province of Afghanistan earlier last week.

Local government officials said, the militants were killed in Manogi district following a drone strike on Tuesday morning.

Kunar is among the volatile provinces in eastern Afghanistan where Taliban militants and insurgents from the other militant networks are openly operating.

Kunar is also considered to be a hotbed of insurgents both for the Afghan and Pakistani militants, as Kunar province has border with the tribal regions of Pakistan.

It´s Christmas soon.. and Eastern glory and promises too far away.

Easter is a time for renewal, and on our base, there are always symbols of that renewal all over in the form of roses of all kinds. In fact, the roses here by Easter time are already nearing the end of their first full bloom, and they will bloom many more times yet next year. Even in Kunar, in the midst of conflict, these roses are a constant reminder of the renewal that the Easter holy day represents for many.

The Chaplain has been a good friend to us all. But being on what is a normal deployment for the Air Force - six months - it's time for him to bid farewell to Kunar and his friends on the ADT. But we sent him off in style with a hearty Afghan meal and a couple of tokens of our appreciation for him!

KABUL (Reuters) - Afghan President Hamid Karzai will not allow any of his ministers to sign a security pact with the United States unless key demands are met, the president's spokesman said on Wednesday.

U.S Secretary of State John Kerry on Tuesday said the bilateral security agreement (BSA) could be signed by Karzai's defence minister, Bismillah Khan Mohammadi, effectively circumventing Karzai.

The BSA will shape the post-2014 U.S military presence in Afghanistan. U.S officials says without an agreement by year's end they may be forced to consider a total withdrawal of troops, leaving Afghan forces to fight the Taliban insurgency on their own.

But Karzai's spokesman Aimal Faizi said the president remained committed to his two main demands.

"President Karzai wants an absolute end to the military operations on Afghan homes and a meaningful start to the peace process, and we are certain that the Americans can practically do that within days or weeks," Faizi said.

"As long as these demands are not accepted, President Karzai will not authorise any minister to sign it," Faizi said.

Kerry had told a gathering of NATO foreign ministers the security pact did not have to be signed by Karzai himself.

"His minister of defence can sign it, the government can sign it, somebody can accept responsibility for this," he said.

Mohammadi was also at the meeting and a senior Afghan official said the defence minister was approached by U.S officials about such a possibility.

Last month an assembly of Afghan elders, known as a Loya Jirga, endorsed the security pact, but in closing remarks Karzai suggested he might not sign it until after national elections next spring.

He also said his signing was dependent on several new demands, not raised during year-long and at times fraught negotiations.

There are 47,000 U.S forces in Afghanistan. The United States has been in discussions with Afghan officials about keeping a residual force of about 8,000 troops after the end of the NATO combat mission next year.
