According to local authorities in eastern Kunar province of Afghanistan, at least four Taliban militants were killed following a drone strike by coalition security forces.  

A local security official confirming the report said the militants were killed during a drone strike in Asmar district late Saturday.

Taliban militants group has not commented regarding the reports so far.

This comes as a senior Taliban leader was killed along with four other militants following a drone strike by coalition security forces in eastern Kunar province of Afghanistan earlier last week.

Local government officials said, the militants were killed in Manogi district following a drone strike on Tuesday morning.

Kunar is among the volatile provinces in eastern Afghanistan where Taliban militants and insurgents from the other militant networks are openly operating.

Kunar is also considered to be a hotbed of insurgents both for the Afghan and Pakistani militants, as Kunar province has border with the tribal regions of Pakistan.
